It’s a Pasta kind of a week! Are you feeling it too? We know you are! Every time you start to feel hangry this week, head out to these fine places and devour on some of their signature hearty Italian pasta dishes (Al-dente and all) that would make even our Italian friends go ‘Mamma Mia!’ and  ‘Fantastico.’

Think about it, we’re talking about the aroma of sautéed garlic, all-you-can-have extra-virgin olive oil, long strings and rings of pasta, the rustle of caramelized onions and the irresistible aroma of freshly ground pesto.

What are you waiting for? Make those reservations and head out! Bon Appétit!

Pesto Pasta with Potatoes and Beans

That Madras Place definitely offers one of the best Pesto Pastas in town. They make their Pesto with walnuts instead of pine nuts which makes the sauce nuttier and even more irresistible. I love the variations they offer with Pesto. You could opt to make your Pesto Pasta creamier or you could just have it with a drizzle of olive oil, you could also get the dish with or without the Potato and Beans (I would recommend you have it with the vegetables though). However you wish to have it, their emerald green pesto pasta is utterly delicious, so refreshing and flavorful yet light. Their Pesto is the Besto, wink wink.

Gnocchi Pasta with Béchamel Sauce

Gnnocchi with Béchamel Sauce at La Cucina is the ultimate comfort food. Light, pillow-like Gnocchi in a creamy and luscious Béchamel sauce is the kind of hearty dishes they would probably serve in heaven. It has the capacity to completely transform your day. Even if you aren’t a big fan of white sauce, I would recommend you try this one to experience subtle yet soul-satisfying flavors that are so hard to come by. One spoon or two once you get a taste, it is so hard (and sinful) to stop.

Homemade ring shaped pasta made out of freshly rolled out dough is stuffed with green peas, chickpeas, sour ricotta cheese and a sprinkle of mint leaves. These delectable little dumplings are stirred and slow cooked in boiling water. The boiled tortellini is tossed in a light sage butter, garlic cheese sauce and served to you with fresh cherry tomatoes and sautéed butter beans. If you generally like Gnocchi and Ravioli, you definitely have to try Tortellini Shicchighi at Dario’s every little dumpling melts in your mouth and it is especially perfect to gulp down on rainy evenings.

Smoked Chicken Pasta

This is one of the creamiest pastas they offer. Now, Chef Willi takes his Pastas VERY seriously. They have to be al-dente and over-cooking is definitely a big no.  So you could definitely trust them to come up with the smokiest, creamiest Al-dente pasta you’ve ever had. Locally sourced, fresh spinach, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and tender pieces of smoked chicken are sautéed and tossed in a creamy sauce along with the pasta of your choice. Is it utterly butterly delicious? Most definitely!

Two Ring Pasta

Flavorful and tangy tomato sauce or creamy and cheesy white sauce? Wow! That’s pretty much like Sophie’s choice. We have a better suggestion, why not have a bit of both thrown together in one innovative dish? That’s New Yorker’s Two Ring Pasta for you. Golden corn and crunch capsicum are sautéed in butter; a rich and creamy cheese sauce is added to the veggies and then mixed with freshly boiled macaroni. This cheese sauce macaroni forms the inner ring of this dish. For the outer ring, spaghetti is tossed in Arabiatta sauce along with Spanish olives and a generous drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil and fresh Italian herbs. Whether you mix it up and have it together or decide to eat it ring after ring, this pasta is definitely unforgettable. Innovative, beautiful, flavorful and mouth-watering, this two ring pasta from New Yorker is definitely a must-try.

Spaghetti Puttanesca

The name of this dish instantly got my attention. I have a thing for funny sounding names. If you find a dish with an interestingly weird name, you can be rest assured that I’ll be all over it within the next few minutes. Spaghetti Puttanesca is a tangy South-Italian pasta dish. If you love Kalamata olives and capers, you’ll definitely love this one.  A whole lot of tomatoes, a few cloves of garlic minced and tossed with spaghetti, tomato sauce and exotic vegetables, that’s Spaghetti Puttanesca for you, tangy, chunky and just mouth-watering.

This one has always been a family favorite. Pureed tomatoes with a generous sprinkle of fresh Italian herbs are simmered in low flame for over twenty minutes, once it starts to simmer rapidly, sautéed vegetables are added to the sauce and finally al-dente spaghetti is mixed in to this tangy and delectable goodness.
